David Letellier / Kangding Ray

Kangding Ray/David Letellier is a French national who has lived and worked as a musician and composer in Berlin for many years. His music reflects a particular way of merging beats and atmospheric soundscapes into slowly evolving compositions. He combines machines with “real instruments” always treading the narrow divide between experimental music and club culture.

He composed the magic soundtrack to the OUBEY Experience Film, an initial cinematic approach to OUBEY released in 2010. The idea of staging an encounter arose from this collaboration. Almost immediately, it was clear to me that the Grüne Bild (Green Picture) would be the right work to bring to the encounter with Kangding Ray. That proved a good decision.
