WOW! More than 500,000 Page Views Since the Web Opening, Two Years Ago
Posted: Mar 23, 2012

Recently, we had the traffic statistics for oubey.com evaluated: We had over 500,000 hits since the web opening at the ZKM in Karlsruhe on March 23rd, 2010. Amongst the most popular were "The Art of OUBEY" and the OUBEY Blog.

Visitors come from all over the world, mostly though from the USA, China and Germany. Increasingly, visitors from Russia and Japan have also found their way onto our website. More recently, we've also had our first visitors from Africa.

We are very happy about this resonance and would like to thank all of our visitors for their continued interest in OUBEYs art and the MINDKISS project! Of course we are also very pleased if you recommend the site to others. After all, it is one of the proclaimed goals of the MINDKISS project to gain popularity and reach as many people as possible, on its own path, beyond the established art scene, thereby allowing them to get to know OUBEYs art and what it's made of.

Learning English with oubey.com
Posted: Feb 12, 2012

A friend of oubey.com randomly discovered, that the German-English online dictionary „Linguee“ is using translations from OUBEYs website. He pointed this out to us a few days ago. We took a look, and were indeed able to find some translations! We thought that was rather amusing:

"One-time-purchase"

"seriously consider"

Further, a link to oubey.com is conveniently placed after every translation suggestion. We are, of course, quite happy about this unexpected publicity. Perhaps it will even inspire one or two visitors to actually go for a “one-time-purchase“ of one of OUBEYs PhotonPaintings.

Twenty Years After
Posted: Jan 15, 2012

OUBEY had been testing the possibilities of computer painting on his Amiga 500 for five years, and had in this time already created several hundred PhotonPaintings, before he presented twelve of these innovative paintings to the public in 1992. He titled this exhibition “MINDKISS”. It was his only exhibition. Despite its great success, OUBEY decided to withdraw from the public art scene thereafter.

The MINDKISS project, named after this first and only exhibition, started to present OUBEYs hidden treasure to the public: The website, book, encounter videos and lastly the OUBEY blog create a virtual means to allow the public to get acquainted with OUBEYs creative work and its intellectual origins. The original paintings however, have to date been exclusively accessible to selected people in the context of the Encounters project.

This is about to change. Twenty years after OUBEYs MINDKISS exhibition, the time has come: a selection of his original paintings will go on a worldwide tour, starting 2012. Herewith, the MINDKISS project reaches its next stage. Concerning the choice of locations and the style of presentation, we will go our own, unconventional way – according to the approach of MINDKISS. Exact dates and locations of this tour will be published in April.

Calendar Stickers Everywhere
Posted: Jan 10, 2012

Over the last few weeks we received a lot of responses concerning the new stickers for the OUBEY calendar. Quite a few of these stated, that the calendar was too good for sticking stickers all over it. Thus, several pictures we received show stickers being stuck on all kinds of objects, as for example:

By the way: the stickers may be removed from the calendar quite easily, without damaging the paper.
